Here we go: Recently a friend of mine had to leave the country because the immigration authority said he was taking too long to finish his studies at the university. No enough problems, he got arrested during a transit in Poland on his way back to his home country in Central Asia. First you got kicked out of the country where you spent the last seven years of your life, and on your way back home you got arrested because you don’t have a valid visa for the country you were sentenced to leave. Shit does happen, really. This might sound strange for some of you. But hey dude, German immigration policies are challenging, even for the sharpest minds. So right now a substantial share of the German politicians and basically the whole business sector are asking for immigrant-friendlier laws whereas our Angie “Teflon” Merkel recently said during an important speech: “Multikulti ist absolut gescheitert”. Read, a melting pot society absolutely doesn’t fit to Germany.
Fortunately, the immigrant youth here want to be part of the discussion. They have something to tell and right now, it looks like the Ruhrpott’s rap artist FARD is doing that for them. If you want to know what they talk about, what is going on inside the head of a frustrated German youth, just check “Alter Ego”, FARD’s album which is already being promoted by four music videos, with more videos to come. Perhaps the first music album which you can also consider as a series of short films? If you come across 45, know it’s no longer Scientific, it’s Illegal…
