Well, no disrespect to the folks there, but May 20th is also the birthday of big homie and on May 20th she finally starts her highly anticipated trip to Thailand, yeah all of that is a kind of important, no doubt. But for us and for you, if you still on some real rap tunes, the 20th of May is the start of Redman’s Tour in Good Old Germany. It’s Redman, it’s the Funky Doc, and it’s the Def Squad! If you ready for the blowing of your mind, pick up your ticket, pick it up! And get prepared for some funkorama; In case you can’t get in the sold-out live hall of your city, just go wild like Red himself. However, I’m afraid it won’t help. It’s like that, you better pick up your ticket.
I got like three meetings today, but this morning I just put my mobile on flight modus. Unprofessional uh?! Perhaps so, but I am sure all the people I was supposed to meet today could reach one of my partners. Now, it’s already almost 10 pm and I still don’t know how the day went on but it’s all cool, all good. Hell yeah, you can afford acting like that when you have only the bests of their art in your team, ah ouais, que des numéros 10 dans ma team, pas juste pour la frime. Sometimes, when I find myself between two hustler steps looking through the mirror, I catch myself looking at me with the same perplexity as Dame Dash last day when I handed him a cap and he asking me “your line?” Irrelevant question for me right now. I might ask Kid Cudi when he will visit us in Cologne at the end of the summer what dreams, cold sweats, paths full of sorrow and trials of tomorrow are all about.
For the moment, I am just happy that the election in our home state, North Rhine-Westphalia, yeah, the wild wild west, will be over in a few hours. So, our politicians will hopefully start working again on real issues and not just politrikkking us all around for some percentage points to serve their Rot-Rot-Schwarz-Gelb-Grün coalition mathematics. If you can stand some politically engaged hiphop, don’t miss Dead Prez on the 1st of July in Cologne, it’s revolutionary but still gangsta, still bigger than hiphop, so stay the hell out of the kitchen if you can’t stand the heat!
